Continuing the tradition of the Nike Breaking2 project, the brand new Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite Flyprint (we call it Flyprint) is the latest innovation of the running shoe giant. They say it is very special; a total of only 50 pairs of gorgeous PS500 sneakers have been produced and sold. A sports shoe designed and manufactured (and sold) according to the highest standards. This shoe is produced in cooperation with the start-up company 3D Carbon. By the end of 2018, Adidas has launched 100,000 pairs of new shoes, and plans to develop this technology in 2019, with the goal of reaching millions next year.
However, despite Adidas' size and how difficult it is to push the technology, they have yet to ship fully 3D printed shoes. Meanwhile, several companies, including Nike and New Balance, are developing 3D-printed shoes. Adidas began selling shoes with 3D printed soles in January; after an initial limited release, it aims to mass produce 100,000 pairs by the end of the year.
When we talking about sewing a footwear, adding at least a second shoe component to one or more of the first shoe components and sew together step by step. In the factory there’ll be requiring post bed sewing machine, flatbed sewing machine etc for heavy duty sewing purpose of different footwear.
In contrast, 3D printed clothing can simply be thrown into blender-like machines that turn plastic into powder, which can then be used to print something new. Designers have already unveiled 3D printed shoes and clothing, in which plastic is applied layer by layer to create a three-dimensional structure. Dawson says 3D-printed shoes may become commonplace in the next 10 years.
