The development of any product should be based on the market demand, which may be based on the difficulties encountered by users in the sewing process, or the improvement of some inefficient sewing equipment. Market demand must be investigated and summarized in many aspects. In reality, many sewing enterprises decide what products they want to develop. They often follow what products they want to develop when they see foreign products. They don't fully grasp the market demand. They don't realize that the market demand is what the enterprise development strategy should grasp. Whether the product can be developed successfully or not, the success probability is directly proportional to whether the market demand is strong and urgent. There is a common problem for R & D personnel in the domestic sewing industry, that is, they do not fully investigate the "why R & D this machine", lack of evaluation on the market capacity of products, customer price acceptance ability, and the enterprise's own resources, and have a half understanding of the clothing technology of products, so it is difficult to grasp the potential demand, which also leads to the lack of creative products, We can only follow the product route of others.
（2） Prototype selection
Newton, a famous scientist, said: "if I can see farther than others, it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants.". Pure original development is rare, and most of the product development is based on the re innovation of predecessors. After the R & D personnel find the market demand, they need to provide the corresponding products to meet the market demand. Before starting the R & D project, we need to study whether there are ready-made products in the current market, which products can best meet the needs of customers, why these products satisfy customers most, and what products in the R & D market can not satisfy customers. We also need to understand what problems customers care about first and second, and so on. Analysis of samples, selection of prototype, but also need to combine the company's product characteristics and their own reality.
